Creating art and words that spark connection and joy.
My love of birds began in childhood, when my grandpa nicknamed me Heather Feather and our family had a little cockatiel named Birdie. That spark has grown into a special connection with the winged world. Whether I’m birding in my Minnesota backyard, wandering nature centers, or catching sight of a majestic blue heron (my favorite bird), I’m always reminded that feathers are signs of presence, hope, and love.
Each bird I draw with pen and marker feels like a messenger. Giving them names is my way of honoring their spirit and sharing the stories they want to tell. Over the years I’ve created more than 100 bird illustrations and written four Little Birdie Buddies books — and there are still so many waiting to take flight from my heart.
My mission is to awaken wonder, spread joy, and remind us all that we, too, have wings to soar. ❤️
